Decreasing availability of quality childcare has created barriers for employers and employees across Iowa. According to the Governor’s Childcare Task Force Report, Black Hawk County has 4.1-6 children per available childcare slot.

The goal of this project is to rehabilitate the existing building to serve the needs of students aged 6 weeks to preschool.
Council Bluffs Schools Foundation
The Council Bluffs Community School District is constructing an Early Learning Center to expand preschool services to an additional 175 students in full-day preschool programming, as well as an additional 30 children in infant and toddler child care rooms.
Community United Child Care Centers, Cedar Falls
This project will consist of remodeling the existing facility and building a new addition that will increase capacity by 54 slots. For 0-5 ages, adding more infant and toddler slots than other age groups because of greater need. Before and after school care for school-age children will be added to this center that it previously did not have. Project to be completed October 2023.
City of Roland
Funds will be used for contracting with Levi Architecture to provide our team with architectural drawings/site layout for up to three prospective sites to build a child care center for the Roland community.
Catherine McAuley Center, Cedar Rapids
CMC’s Refugee Child Care Business Development Program assists newly arrived, economically-vulnerable refugees in registering and operating licensed in-home child care businesses.
4 C’s
4Cs will be responsible for undertaking the marketing of a Wage Enhancement program being implemented in Johnson County. We will also be onboarding the centers and child development homes to ensure they are fulfilling the requirements of program participation.
Ready, Set, GROW child care center expansion to Methodist Manor Retirement Community
Ready, Set, GROW (RSG) is partnering with Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake, Iowa to open a child care center in a community without a center for child care. Anticipated opening is Spring of 2019.
Davis County Daycare and Preschool’s Educational Experience Upgrade
Davis County is a “Child Care Desert”. There are at least 3 children for every child care spot available. The Davis County Daycare and Preschool is a nonprofit center that has been providing care in Davis County for over 40 years
Refugee Child Care Training Program
LSI helps refugee women to increase their families’ financial stability by becoming registered in-home child care providers through the Iowa DHS.
