Marie C. Wilson, founder of The White House Project and creator of Take our Daughters and Sons to Work ® Day, delivered the keynote address to a full house at the 2015 annual Iowa Women’s Foundation luncheon held on October 14th at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Wilson is also the former president of the Ms. Foundation for Women, and author of Closing the Leadership Gap: Why Women Can and Must Help Run the World (Viking 2004) and Getting Big: Reimagining the Women’s Movement.
With a theme of “overcoming barriers,” the Annual Luncheon was also an opportunity to recognize the sixteen Iowa organizations who are receiving a record level of grant funding from IWF this year.
The Annual Awards Luncheon is a highlight in IWF’s calendar, bringing together supporters from across the state to celebrate achievements and focus on the most pressing issues facing women and girls in Iowa. The Luncheon also serves as a critical source of funds for IWF.
