A native of northeast Iowa, Laurie earned her BA in business administration and political science from Wartburg College. She also holds a JD from the University of Iowa College of Law (with high distinction). She is an attorney and Senior Vice President at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, focusing on real estate, business, and banking law as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Laurie is passionate about issues that impact women, children and underserved populations. She works to address these barriers through involvement with Prairie School Foundation Advisory Committee, Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa, Inc., Women’s Leadership Initiative of United Way of East Central Iowa, and Affordable Housing Network, Inc.
