Katherine was introduced to IWF by Jo Jones and Della McGrath. She joined the Board in 2009—serving her final year as president in 2011.
Katherine is from Cherokee, IA and earned a BA in English from the University of Iowa before relocating to California for six years.
She currently resides in Iowa City and stays involved in the community. She has served on the Iowa City Public Library Board of Trustees, the Library’s Friends Foundation, and served as president of the ICCSD Foundation for two years. In 2012, she joined the Oaknoll Board of Directors. She was an active volunteer in her children’s schools and serves today through IRIS—the Iowa Radio Reading Information Services.
Katherine is most passionate about crushing the childcare barrier, because when women can’t find childcare, they can’t work or attain financial independence.
