Joy joined the IWF Board after learning about the Foundation’s mission and impact at an event and finding that the Foundation’s values align with her own.

Joy enlisted in the United States Air Force and received the John Levitow Award in 2010—the highest honor presented to Airman graduates. After serving for 16 years, Joy relocated to Iowa and earned her BA from Upper Iowa University.

Passionate about diversity and equality, she serves as Managing Partner at TOP RANK and as Executive Director of 24/7 Black Leadership Advancement Consortium. Joy is a Black Hawk County Veterans commissioner and works with SHIPHT Youth Opportunity Accelerator to increase youth career trajectories.

She received a Toast for Change Award and was recognized as a Waterloo Courier 20 Under 40 honoree in 2017. Joy looks forward to intentional and continuous efforts to reduce barriers so that women and girls can reach their full potential.
