Alison followed IWF’s work in its early years, serving a similar mission through her own work as a feminist musicology student and associate professor in women’s studies program at Cornell College.
She is originally from Wisconsin, but has called Iowa home since 1985. Alison has been the Director of the Coralville Public Library for over 20 years. In this time, she has also been involved in a number of organizations and committees that serve human rights, music, literature, and faith.
Alison is no stranger to the barriers that women face—awareness she attributes to her mother and grandmother who discussed these issues openly in the 1960s. She knows that in order to address employment and other core barriers, we must start with accessible education and training opportunities for women.
