An Iowa City native, Abbey attended the University of Iowa and earned her JD from the College of Law. Today, she is a civil defense Attorney and Partner at Lane & Waterman LLP. She has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star and recognized on Iowa State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Honor Roll.

Abbey joined IWF to help bring permanent, systemic change to the issues affecting women and girls. This includes the childcare crisis, which became relatable for her after experiencing the challenges firsthand.

Abbey serves on the Board for the Vera French Housing Corporation and she and her family are involved in numerous causes that are important to them, including mental health, homelessness, and more. For Abbey, giving back is more than financial contributions—it is also about giving your time and connecting with those in need.
