Total Transportation Program teaches car buying, financial mentoring, auto maintenance and repairs, savings programs and ways to increase their credit scores. The Driving Hope program, in partnership with local banks, gives women the opportunity to secure a short-term, low-interest loan to purchase an affordable and reliable vehicle up to $5,000. They also provide bus passes and gas cards. Goals of this project include providing an opportunity to obtain affordable, reliable transportation through direct assistance; providing education on how to purchase a vehicle without falling victim to predatory lenders, how to navigate the loan process and how to manage auto finances; provide education and opportunity for sustaining reliable, affordable transportation long-term.
