The Kid’s Spot is a nonprofit child care center that opened in Lake City in 1992. They provide part-time, full-time, and before/after-school care, and are the only HHS licensed program in their community. The Kid’s Spot recently expanded their center by opening two new classrooms, one for preschool aged children and one for school aged children. This project directly increased the availability of childcare in their area by adding 30 spaces. Previous IWF funds were used to supply the new classrooms with developmentally appropriate furnishings, materials, and curriculum.
