IWF conducted targeted research, developing the SHE MATTERS reports and identifying the primary barriers to economic self-sufficiency for Iowa women and girls.
Through continued research, grantmaking, advocacy, education, and collaboration, the six barriers below have become the focal points of IWF’s work—with childcare being identified as the most crucial.
As we continue to combat the childcare crisis in Iowa, the Foundation looks forward to shattering this barrier and shifting its efforts to the next priority barrier. Each barrier will be addressed until there are no more substantial barriers to the economic self-sufficiency of Iowa’s women and girls.
