Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois
In Girl Scouts, girls develop critical leadership and life skills such as conflict resolution, problem solving, recognizing healthy relationships, decision-making, and communication skills. Programs are focused on 4 key areas: STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.
Most girls have their first experience running a business though the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Girls learn to communicate with customers, devise a marketing strategy, promote a product, and ethically manage money. This is important because girls gain the confidence and skills essential to starting their own businesses.
Girls also explore the outdoors, step outside their comfort zones, and build confidence through Girl Scout programs. Girls thrive emotionally, intellectually, and physically through time outdoors. This is important because emotional health is essential for long-term success in education and employment.
Overall, Girl Scouts activities are designed to give girls the tools they need to create opportunities for themselves, prepare for their future, and help them realize their potential.
