Lois has been a long-time advocate and supporter for the Iowa Women’s Foundation, both individually and through her business—James Investment Group.

Lois is from Renwick, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University. Following her graduation, she worked for an insurance company, a law firm, radio station, and an architectural firm before founding James Investment Group In 1984. The full-service independent financial planning firm stemmed from her strong desire to help women negotiate their own finances.

Lois has done considerable public speaking on the subject of women and money, and is especially passionate about shattering the employment barriers that women face. Her experience as an investment banker has revealed how these barriers can negatively impact financial security.

In her retirement, Lois is very involved with Miracles in Motion—a therapeutic equestrian center near Swisher. James Investment Group is now led by her son, Jeremy.
