The Iowa Women’s Foundation is pleased to announce that Angela Sadler Williamson, Ph.D, is the keynote speaker for the Annual Luncheon. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Coralville Marriott and Convention Center.
Angela Sadler Williamson, Ph.D., is an award-winning independent filmmaker, speaker, and adjunct instructor in the Communication Studies Department at Concordia University Irvine. Dr. Williamson has over 25 years of experience in the broadcast television, cable advertising, healthcare, financial, municipal government, and higher education industries. Her former roles include producer and copywriter for the Orange County NewsChannel, Fox 11 Television, Fox Sports West, and Prime Ticket.
With accolades such as multiple Telly awards and the 2019 recipient of the Belle Babb Mansfield Award, Dr. Williamson also has a doctorate in Human Services with a specialization in Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University in Minnesota. Dr. Williamson has also been featured in Women Who Rock with Success and Black Girls Allowed magazines, and Civil Women on PBS.
In December 2018, she released her award-winning documentary about her cousin Rosa Parks titled My Life with Rosie, on Amazon Prime. In August 2019, she will release her first book titled Women Who Illuminate.
