Iowa Women’s Foundation Hosts Annual Luncheon, Awards $400,000 in Grant Funding

Coralville, IA — The Iowa Women’s Foundation (IWF) hosted its Annual Luncheon last week, at which it announced $400,000 in grant funding awarded to 13 organizations across the state.

Grantmaking, one of IWF’s five pillars of sustainable change, serves the Foundation’s longstanding mission to improve the lives of Iowa women and girls by funding programs currently working to relieve evidence-based barriers to economic self-sufficiency. The other four pillars—research, education, advocacy, and collaboration—help address the most prevalent systemic issues.

“Every single day, these organizations are hands-on, showing up and supporting Iowa’s women and girls,” said President/CEO Deann Cook. “Their work is vital, and grantmaking allows them to cover more ground and address immediate barriers. At the same time, we work at the systemic level to reduce these barriers in the first place.”

To date, the Iowa Women’s Foundation has awarded $2.3 million to 249 organizations across the state serving Iowa’s women and girls.

In addition to the grants, attendees heard from keynote speaker Anne Nizzi Clark, director of the Caitlin Clark Foundation.
