Funding for this project will support the online Childcare Director Training Certification program, first piloted with an IWF grant in 2021. This program addresses the growing need for qualified childcare providers to improve the economic stability of the directors that manage centers and the opportunity for an increase in the number of childcare spaces available. The training provides students valuable information such as: center design, financial management, policies and procedures, human resources, staff management, program philosophy, creating a positive climate, managing food, health and safety, curriculum and assessment, and accessing services or community resources. The training also allows cohort collaboration and an extended mentoring program after completion.
