Davis County Daycare has provided care to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old in Davis County for the past 41 years. We continue to provide high quality care to children in Davis County by having teachers who are continuing their education in Early Childhood, utilizing other programs such as Parents as Teachers, AEA, and Care For Kids program. These programs come into the facility with fun activities, providing assessments, and observing children when needed.
The children in the daycare and preschool who have presented with limited social skills, are now engaging in play, transitioning to and from class, and gaining appropriate relationships with other children their own age.
Davis County Daycare and Preschool’s education program focuses on preschool and kindergarten readiness as well as socialization skills. We currently and for the past thirteen years have utilized the Creative Curriculum Program, which is a researched based curriculum that is supported by the Department of Education. This Curriculum and our teachers focus on literacy, math, development of social skills as well as learning through play and life.
As we work toward having the highest quality daycare and preschool, we are working toward earning a 4th star in the QRS (Quality Rating System) with a target date of June 3, 2019. We currently hold a 3 star rating. We also participate in the CACFP (Child Adult Care Food Program) which ensures healthy snacks and meals are provided.
When children are given the quality education in the early years, it sets a tone for their development and growth for the rest of their academic careers. Our goal is to reach as many young children as we can so that they can receive a high quality educational experience that encourages and nurtures a love that will impact them positively the rest of their lives.
