OVATION: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls
In keeping with its mission of improving the lives of women and girls in Iowa, the Iowa Women’s Foundation publishes OVATION: A Tribute to Iowa’s Women and Girls each year. This book provides a fun and unique way to pay tribute to a woman or girl in your life. Honor someone you know—and, by doing so, help improve the lives of women and girls across Iowa.

Annual Luncheon
Since 1995, the Iowa Women’s Foundation has hosted the Annual Luncheon in the fall. This event has been sold out the last 3 years and is the largest fundraising event for the Foundation. At the luncheon, IWF’s work is celebrated with the announcement of the grantee partners and a keynote speaker sharing the spirit of women working together to provide opportunities for each other.
Grapes & Gratitude
The Iowa Women’s Foundation could not do the work it does without our volunteers and supporters. A special invitation-only reception in celebration of our loyal volunteers and supporters is hosted at the end of each year. Attendees meet fellow supporters and learn about the work accomplished throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering with IWF, there are various ways you can help. Don’t have the time but still want to show your support? We offer multiple ways to support IWF and the work we do across all of Iowa.
Chicks for Change
Chicks for Change – Cedar Valley
An IWF donor circle based in the Cedar Valley was founded over a decade ago by residents of the area who were passionate about the work of the Iowa Women’s Foundation. The group has increased awareness of IWF’s work and raised over $150,000 for the Foundation. Ovation Unveiling and Dine and Unwind are two annual fundraising events organized by Chicks for Change-Cedar Valley.
Chicks for Change – Des Moines
The Des Moines Chicks for Change group was formed to generate visibility and financial support for the IWF in their region and communities and to provide connection and information on local issues. Information sessions and Ovation Unveilings are hosted annually to expand and improve opportunities and choices for Iowa’s women and girls.

During this short and sweet virtual meetup, we’ll share current IWF initiatives, hear from grantees and guest speakers, and talk about the issues facing Iowa’s women and girls. To join these quick meetups, click here.
Additional Partners and Events
A lack of mentors and mentoring programs is a barrier to economic self-sufficiency for Iowa’s women and girls. To address this barrier, IWF is honored to partner with the Tippie College of Business Women in Business, the University of Iowa Female Alliance of Civil Engineers, the Hawkeye Women’s Basketball team and University of Northern Iowa’s Women in Business. Through these partnerships, three events are hosted: a networking breakfast, working the room simulation and “Shoot-High for Success.” In addition, the UNI WIB coordinates Run Like a Mother, a 5K run hosted annually the day before Mother’s Day.
