Elkhart is a growing community north of Ankeny that has a need for childcare and employment, as the nearest jobs or childcare is 20 minutes away. By building a childcare center in Elkhart it not only provides childcare to the children, but it provides employment opportunities as currently Elkhart only has 3 small business for job opportunities. Shooting Star Childcare plans on opening in Spring 2023 pending completion of construction. The Director and Assistant Director will oversee hiring and managing the employees and ensuing a fun, safe environment for the children. Shooting Star Childcare goal is to provide childcare and employment to this growing community and to offer a service that is currently limited in Elkhart.
