Shooting Star Childcare focuses on play-based learning, encouraging children to explore their environment and imagine a world of possibility. The center provides care to children from newborn to age ten. Previous IWF funding supported the building of their new center. This not only provided the area with childcare, but also increased employment opportunities, as Elkhart only had three small businesses for job opportunities prior to the opening of Shooting Star.
