The Sumner Daycare and Learning Center (SDLC), was approved by the State Fire Marshal to conduct business in renovated classrooms of the Durant Elementary until June 2024. Some factors for the limited timeframe were the age of the building (1952), and the high cost of bringing the aging space up to current code. We chose to open at this location to provide some relief in the community realizing we would be moving to phase II immediately after. The new location in Phase II will provide a space that is up to code, easily accessible, and flexible for families needing care. Additional space will be available for infants which the center is not able to accommodate at this time. Funding will allow us to hire an architect for expertise, documentation, and development of plan including an evaluation of the land options to provide the best fit for the center.
