IWF extends a special thank you to our 2023 Grant Partner, To The Rescue, for writing this guest blog. To The Rescue exists, at its core, to serve the community. We can’t think of a better way to advance this mission than to address the child care crisis head on. Thank you, To The Rescue, for taking charge and implementing solutions for Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities.
To The Rescue is a comprehensive life services company with the mission to improve the quality of people’s lives through products and services. This includes personalized support in the form of home health care, human services, transportation, cleaning services, and more.
While working to fulfill its mission, To The Rescue identified the need for expanded child care solutions in the Cedar Rapids metro area. In an effort to relieve this need, To The Rescue plans to build a 100-spot child care facility for employees and community members. The project is made possible in part by IWF Grant Funding and is scheduled to open in 2025.
“To The Rescue is excited for the opportunity to continue our mission of improving lives. The child care facility will give us the opportunity to add to our comprehensive life services model,” said CFO Chris Frantz. “We understand the need for additional child care services and are eager to begin this endeavor—not only for our staff, but also for the others in our community needing child care.”
The facility’s location will enable parents to pursue additional employment opportunities and better provide for their families. The $10,000 grant from IWF will be utilized to purchase educational materials, such as toys, books, curriculum materials, and room furnishings.
To The Rescue staff are grateful for this gift, which will help further our efforts to improve the lives of others in our community.
