The Iowa Women’s Foundation has announced the Core Grantees for 2020. $100,000 has been awarded to eleven organizations across Iowa to shatter the barriers women and girls face to economic self-sufficiency: Employment, Child Care, Housing, Education/Training, Transportation and Mentoring. Recipients are: House of Hope, Domestic Violence Intervention Program, Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa, Grin & Grow, Ltd., Heartland Family Service, Lutheran Services in Iowa, Mason City Family YMCA, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, Inc., St. Mark’s Youth Enrichment, University of Iowa Labor Center, and YWCA Clinton. This brings the total of grants in IWF’s 25 year history to nearly $1 million. In 1997, the first year grants were awarded, seven programs were the recipients of a total of $10,000. Thank you to all of our supporters this past quarter century for working to shatter these barriers. Together we are improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls.
