The Iowa Women’s Foundation, with support from its Board of Directors and sponsors, awarded grants to fund nine Iowa non-profit programs that focus on making lasting improvements to the lives of women and girls.
“We are proud this year to be able to award the highest number of grants in the past decade of the Iowa Women’s Foundation, ” said Dawn Oliver Wiand, Executive Director of the Iowa Women’s Foundation. “The programs we fund are varied, but all serve to improve the lives of Iowa’s women and girls.”
Among the recipients are:
- Children and Families of Iowa
- ISED’s Women’s Business Center
- 50/50 in 2020 program
- Women, Food and Agriculture Network
- Ascent Iowa
- Love Girls Magazine of Scott County
- Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s Acting Out Theatre Troupe
- University of Iowa’s College of Educations Strong Girls Read Strong Books program
- University of Northern Iowa Foundation’s Shining Starts: Girls Looking Ahead project
“We received so many worthwhile applications this year and are hopeful that, with our supporters help, we will be able to continue to increase funding for these programs and make a difference in the futures of Iowa’s women and girls.” noted Dawn Oliver, “By sustaining these programs and improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls, we drastically improve the status of our families, our communities and the Iowa economy as a whole.”
