_iwf7530Now in its 21st year, the Annual Awards Luncheon is the high point in the IWF calendar.  In 2016, we heard from political commentator Cokie Roberts, who gave the keynote address. This year, we are delighted to welcome Ann Shoket, millennial expert and former Editor-In-Chief of Seventeen Magazine.

This year’s Luncheon takes place October 5, 2017, and is an opportunity announce our grant partners, share news of the year with supporters, and raise critical funds to support IWF’s mission of improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls.  Fundraising connected to last year’s Luncheon achieved a new record – exceeding $100,000.

Taking place annually in December, the Dine and Unwind event has become a must-do for women in the Cedar Falls-Waterloo area. Dine and Unwind is an evening of fine food, conversation, and fundraising sponsored by Chicks for Change, the Cedar Valley’s Support Team for the Iowa Women’s Foundation.

In 2016, Dine and Unwind was held on Tuesday, December 13 at Montage in downtown Cedar Falls.

Visit the Dine and Unwind photo page for photos from last year’s event.

Dine and Unwind is one of two annual fundraising events organized by Chicks for Change. Founded over a decade ago by residents of the Cedar Valley who were passionate about the work of the Iowa Women’s Foundation, the group has raised over $150,000 for the IWF.

Run Like A Mother is an annual 4-mile run/walk hosted by the Cedar Valley Chicks for Change and benefiting the Iowa Women’s Foundation. Traditionally, 400+ runners/walkers meet in Cedar Falls for the race, but for the 15th anniversary, Chicks for Change is shaking things up and making it easier for women all across the state to Run Like A Mother in support of IWF. This year, runners and walkers will race “in the cloud” by participating in a virtual run.

Although there won’t be an official timed run/walk at Island Park this year, you can still participate! Run or walk on your own or with a group of friends and help support women and girls in the state of Iowa.

Ovation: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls

_IWF6632

Ovation: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls is IWF’s signature annual publication. Ovation provides a fun, simple and unique way to pay tribute to a woman or girl in your life. Each year, the publication contains personal tributes to amazing women and girls from around the state, sponsored by family members, friends, colleagues, or community members who value the impact of the profiled woman or girl.

Through the publication’s tributes, we gain a glimpse into the deeply important and enormously varied ways these women affect their families, friends, community, and professions.

The publication of the tributes also serves as a critical part of the IWF’s annual operating funds and helps enable IWF to accomplish its mission of improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls. The 2017 publication of Ovation honored 92 women and girls and raised over $80,000 for IWF!
