Women Leaders
Ronald Reagan saw what many leaders of his era did not in two remarkable women – Sandra Day O’Connor and Jeanne Kirkpatrick. In 1981, both women achieved firsts – O’Connor was appointed to the Supreme Court and Kirkpatrick was made the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
Both women overcame great odds to achieve those heady positions and they did it through education and fierce determination.
In that sense, IWF partnered with The White House Project in 2006 to create a statewide program designed to help advance women’s leadership in public service.
