Meet the USA National Women's Wrestling Team

Female athletes often get overlooked as athletes and are labeled as sex symbols. Just google women wrestlers and you'll find pages of 'professional' female wrestlers with names like Steel Kitten and no mention of the top-ranked USA National Women's Wrestling Team.

Now is your chance to shatter this stereotype and honor true female athletes. Join us at the Dan Gable Museum in Waterloo at 9 am on Saturday, December 3rd. The women athletes at the event will include a number of past World medalists and World Team members, all who are expected to do well in the upcoming Olympic Trials on April 21-22 in Iowa City.

Among the participants are 2008 World champion Clarissa Chun, two-time World bronze medalist Tatiana Padilla, 2010 World silver medalist Elena Pirozhkova and 2011 World bronze medalist Ali Bernard.

There will be an exhibition match by the USA National Women's Team followed by remarks from Coach Terry Steiner and an opportunity to meet the athletes.
