The Iowa Women's Foundation First Annual Garden Party and Art Fair, held on May 30, 2009, was a wonderful success.

Tremendous thanks to our gracious hosts, Susan Frye and Michael Kienzle!

Under the warm summer sun, more than 100 people came out to support IWF and share in the excitement of new opportunities for Iowa's women and girls. Over $8,000 in contributions have been raised as a result of the event.

The day included music from the North Scott High School Orchestra, lunch, a hosta and plant sale, and art auction. Deborah Smith Wallace and her rescued animal exhibit added fun for all ages.

IWF would also like to recognize the artists and contributors to the art auction: Steve Atkins, John Beasley, David Dennis and The Chait Galleries Downtown, Peter Feldstein, Steve Ford, Wendy Ford, Nancy Hauserman, Nick Hotek and The Hudson River Galleries, Cheryl Jacobsen, Michael Kienzle, Karen Kubby, Tom Langdon, Dave McCartney, Bernie Peeters, Hope Plans, Mark Stevenson, Jean Trainor, Stacy Van Gorp and Deb Zisko.

Other in-kind contributors to the event included: Wylde Wood Estate, Catered by Charlotte, Mike Meinert and Iowa City Waterfront Hy-Vee.

IWF looks forward to inviting all of our friends and supporters back to the Century Farm for the Second Annual Garden Party and Art Fair on Saturday, June 12, 2010!
