Mettie Thomopulos

UIHC Clifton Center for Digestive Disorders
Health Services Administrator

Growing up in Liberia, Mettie Thomopulos had quite a few good role models for what it meant to be a proactive woman. “I frequently observed some amazingly strong, talented women who did a lot for their families, communities and country with minimal resources,” she says.
Clearly following in the footsteps of her foremothers, Mettie excelled through school and then first one career in law; only to take on another challenge by returning to school and redefining her career in health care. Currently Mettie works for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a clinical services administrator for the Clifton Center for Digestive Disorders.
“I’ve always admired resourceful, self-motivated women who are driven no matter what their circumstance,” Mettie says. “The strategic plan, vision and goals of IWF incorporate my desire to contribute to this cause.”
