Jo Lavera Jones, President
University of Iowa Museum of Art
Administrative Associate, Retired
For many years, Jo Lavera Jones contributed to the Iowa Women’s Foundation either donating or attending the group’s annual lunches, but today she takes on a much larger role as IWF President.
“I remember when the organization started,” she recalls. “I know a number of the founders and other women who have been involved over the years and have great admiration for them.”
In 2007, not long after retiring from a 22-year long career as business manager for the University of Iowa Museum of Art, Jo joined the IWF Board of Directors. “I felt that I might be able to make a contribution to IWF. . . that it would present an interesting new challenge.” That challenge as she sees it: Inspiring efforts to make a difference in the lives of Iowa’s girls and women and raise the IWF profile across the state.
