Brenda Cruikshank landed in Iowa City in 1970 when her medical career was just getting started. She worked in the Department of Pediatrics at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics until her retirement in 2004. Then, her focus shifted to a different kind of caretaker position.
In 2006, Brenda joined the Iowa Women’s Foundation Board of Director and currently chairs the Grants Committee.
“In this role I get to help choose the areas of focus for IWF’s grant awards and see the wonderful outcome of that funding for women and girls in Iowa,” she says.
